What is the Car fire blanket?
The most common form of fire in an electric or hybrid vehicle is damage to the high-energy battery, or a manufacturing fault that causes the battery to enter a state of “thermal runaway.” In lithium-ion batteries, the electrolyte often contains hydrocarbon solvents, which can contribute to fire hazards. If left unchecked, extremely high temperatures in excess of 1,000°C+ can occur.

Step 3: Grasp the handle, lift it high, and briskly place the blanket over the burning vehicle.
Note: Minimize direct contact of the blanket with the car as sharp edges may tear the blanket during unfolding.
Step 4:Use the marked spots on the blanket to position the blanket over the vehicle.
Note: Make sure the blanket is in contact with the ground on all sides and avoid areas where air may escape from under the blanket.
Step 5:Use the straps to wrap the bottom of the blanket around the base of the car.
Note: This will help cut off oxygen and ensure the blanket doesn’t blow away in strong winds. Tools or weights can be used to secure the blanket.
Step 6:The blankets were deployed and monitored with thermal imaging cameras.
